Mojo Monday 278

So I jumped back into it this week and brought out my thinking cap!  I needed to create a card for a friend at work that is going on to a new job, so I looked at the Mojo Monday sketch and I thought for a couple days!

Here is the sketch that we had to work with!  I debated on a square card or a circle card.  I really wanted to make a circle one, but the square won out because I need to have a few people sign the card!

As you will see, the trend for my cards are clean and simple.  I'm not sure why I like that style so much, but most cards I make, end up CAS!  Well, hope you like it!

Mojo Monday Sketch 277

Yeah, having Monday off gave me a bit of time to have some creativity time!  I'm not exactly where the time came from ... considering that I had two appointments, doctor and eyes, I had an appointment for my vehicle, I had an appointment for the cable guy, plus I needed to do some other errands ... LOL ... but after all that I found time to do the Mojo Monday challenge for this week!  And it was a good thing that I did at that point because I then spent 4 hours in the ER ... LOL

So yeah, I started out looking at the sketch and I had this great idea for a Valentine's card, but then I saw my green paper and the WHOLE design changed ... LOL

This is the sketch that was given and here is what I did with it!

I love the CAS cards and you will find that I tend to lean towards them more often than not, but this design was fun to create with!

Simple Layout

Ok, so I started thinking that I would prep for the craft fair in June!  I was going through all my old stash of papers and thinking that creating some simple layouts to sell would be a good idea!  So tonight I put together the first of many to come!  It feels good to be creating again!

I created the layout from the CTMH Make it from the Heart Volume 1 book.  It is a very simple design because I'm trying to keep the costs low to entice buyers at the craft fair.  I've done this craft fair twice now.  The first was a huge flop because I went trying to get my name out there.  I set up my tables with display boards to show what Close To My Heart was.  I had my card classes and my workshops listed to try and find people to sign up for them.  No one did.  So the winter one I went in trying to sell Christmas cards, bows and tags.  Unfortunately it was a flop as well.

But I'm hopeful!  I'm going to keep trying and I'm going to keep putting my name out there!  I will find crafters and I will find those who are interested in coming to classes or crops!

Mojo Monday Sketch Callenge - 275

So I've never entered anything like this before, but I'm going to give it a shot!

My friend at work, her daughter just had a baby boy!  It is her first grandchild!  So I decided to create a card to help celebrate the magical moment!

Products used are just some things that I had lying around the house!  I'm trying to use up my old stash of papers!  The flower is from CTMH and is the retired Just Blooms!

Here is the sketch that I used to create the card from!

Well, thanks for taking a look!  I'm looking forward to creating lots more during 2013!

Happy New Year!! 2013!!

So, I've been away from the blogging world for a bit ... 2012 was a year of learning for me!  2013 is going to be a year of creating and having fun!

I realized that I finished the year the way that I brought it in ... LOL ... January 1 2012 was spent with the flu!  I had a very nasty flu that lasted a few days ... I broke a very long standing streak with this flu!  A 15 year streak!  Yes I'm serious!  The last time I had the flu was August 1996!  I remember it all too well too ... LOL ... but yeah, I started 2012 sick!

This past week I was pretty sick again!  This time it was a viral infection of strep and a cold!  The body aches that came with this cold ... OMG!!  I went from the couch to bed, to bed to the couch!  Christmas Day was a fog of fever and just wanting to sleep!  New Year's Eve was spent lying on the couch watching all the festivities on TV ... LOL ... but you know what!  It was still a pretty great night!

Being couch ridden has allowed me to really think about a few things!  I'm going to do things a bit differently!  Last year I focused on trying to set up clubs.  This year, I'm just going to create!  I'm going to have fun with my stuff and post it!  I'm setting up a goal to finish my wedding album!  I'm setting up a goal to get fit!  I'm setting up a goal to be the best ME I can be :)

In all honesty, 2013 is setting up to be a great year!  I can't wait to get started on this year!

Happy 2013 Everyone!!
